Mixed Media Fun!

Hello friends!  Today I'd like to share a mixed media project I made using some of my favorite goodies!  This project was made on 10x10 Clipboard by Zutter.  I first covered the board with gesso and then decoupaged torn pieces of The Crafty Chronicle.

I added layers of muslin for added texture, and I inked the entire surface with several different colors of Mix'd Media Inx.

The smaller flowers were made using the new Bitty Blossoms dies by Spellbinders.  The bling is from Want2Scrap and is called B.Y.O.B. (Build Your Own Bling).  It comes in cut pieces so that you can create your own flourishes!  How cool is that?!

The cut out frame is an image from the Storybook Collection by GCD Studios.

I cut out the centers of the smaller frames and inserted tiny photos behind them.  I titled this project, "Dorks in Love", because my husband and I are silly goofballs who make each other laugh and, yes, we are in love.  :o)

I randomly stamped certain areas and set Zutter Rivets in each corner.

Lil' Darling

Hi everyone!  This is a simple layout I made using the new Botanique Collection by Donna Salazar for GCD Studios.  I love the beautiful, soft colors of these papers.

I made the larger flower using the Rose Creations dies by Spellbinders.  You can find the tutorial for this flower HERE.  The smaller flowers were made using the new Bitty Blossoms dies that are also manufactured by Spellbinders.  I LOVE these dies!  They are one of my favorites!

This tag was cut using Fancy Tags Two by Spellbinders and the coordinating bling is made by Want2Scrap.  It is perfect to hold a little title!

This is my Cabbage Rose with a jeweled brad as the center.

Here I added decorative, punched edges and the soft touch of muslin.

The bling is the new B.Y.O.B. (Build Your Own Bling) by Want2Scrap.  The pieces can be mixed and matched to create your own flourishes.

I cut these beautiful flowers from a second sheet of paper and overlapped the first sheet with foam adhesive.

Beauty Layout & More Chances to Win an All-In-One!

      

                     Happy Wednesday, friends!  Natasha here with a layout I made using Donna Salazar's new Botanique Collection!  I love these new papers!         

            

The layout is of my daughter and is titled, "Beauty", because in my eyes she is a beautiful person both inside and outside.  The journaling reads, "True Beauty is found within."

The larger flower is my hand-made Cabbage Rose.  You can find a tutorial for it HERE.

This is my Simple Elegance flower made with the Carnation Creations dies by Spellbinders.  You can find the tutorial HERE.  I 'fluffed' it up a bit by doubling the layers.

 The kraft flower was made using Bitty Blossoms dies.  I love these dies!  I cut the flowers from the kraft label included in the Mix'd Media Stax by Donna Salazar.  I peeled off the backing and sprinkled the sticky side with glitter and Chiffon Mix'd Media embossing powder.  This gives the flower a 'frosted' look.

Behind the flowers I used die cuts cut from the Shadow Flowers dies by Spellbinders. 

Tucked behind the photo is a piece of muslin which adds a lovely texture.

The background of this layout was cut from a piece of Zutter corrugated board that was painted and inked.  Behind the corrugated board, I adhered punched layers of The Crafty Chronicle.

A little lace and stitching adds a feminine touch to this layout.

The title letters were cut using Donna's Alphas dies and covered with Wisteria Mix'd Media Inx and clear embossing powder.

Day 3 of the Biggest Simply Renee Giveaway!

Hello friends!  Natasha here and welcome to the third day of the amazing Simply Renee Giveaway!  Today I'd like to share my first 8.5x11 layout!  I was a little nervous about reducing the size of my layout, but I wanted to give it a try.  It's amazing how a simple change in size can result in a totally different creative experience.  :o)

 I created the large flower by using canvas layers.  Each layer was painted with a mixture of Helmar Fabric Stiffener & Draping Fluid and Mix'd Media Inx in Peridot.  After applying the mixture, I gently shaped and curled each petal to form a natural-looking flower.

The small kraft flowers were made using the new Bitty Blossom Dies by Spellbinders.  They were cut from the Kraft Paper in Donna Salazar's new Mix'd Media Stax.

 The title chipboard is made by The Dusty Attic.  I added texture by embossing it using Mix'd Media Embossing Powder in Peridot.  The 'Finesse Swirls' bling is made by Want2Scrap.

 The bottom layer of the background is corrugated board that was distressed with paint, ink, embossing powder and a Zutter Distrezz-it-All.  On top of the corrugated board, I added a layer of watercolor paper from the Mix'd Media Stax.  I spritzed Smooch Spritz to add some color and created bricks from fiber paste to add texture.

The photo is matted with (reversed) Kraft label.  I peeled off the backing and applied Fairy Dust Glitter to the sticky surface.

Not only is this a layout, it's a wall hanging!  I laced tulle through eyelets set in the top corners so that I can display my layout on a wall.
