Hand-made 'SMASH' Book!

Hello again creative peeps!  I have an off-the-page project to share today!  SMASH books have been all the rage lately, and although I love the idea, the pre-made SMASH books didn't really suit my style.  So I decided to make my own using products I already had sitting around in my studio!  Such fun!
The hard cover of the book is made from a Zutter Cover-all.  It is the perfect way to begin any type of book or mini album.
First I applied gesso to the entire surface and then the fun began!!  I added layers of tissue...
... muslin and embossed textures...
... fiber paste and ink...
... raffia and brads.
Here is a view of the back cover.
On the inside of the cover I used lace to add a girly touch to the book.
Here's my first page!  I call this book my "shmook"... I have no idea why... LOL.  That's just the first word that came to my head!
The inner pages are from a retired collection by Basic Grey called Phresh & Phunky.  It's one of my all-time favorites!  I also used some of Basic Grey's Basic Collection in Manila.  I rounded the corners of the inner pages with a Zutter Round-it-All.
The backs of these papers are actually white!  They are one-sided papers.  I had the option of leaving the pages white or having some inky fun and spray them up!  I chose the latter.  :o)  (Sorry, I forgot to photograph them.)
The entire book was bound with a Zutter Bind-it-All and O-wires.  This machine is so simple to use and makes book creating easy!
Throughout my Shmook, I bound tags to have a place to jot down thoughts or quotes.
As you can see, I had some inky fun with the tags too!
In the back of my book I included a vinyl pouch to hold embellishments, clips etc.
I even made my own tabs using Creative Page Tabs dies by Spellbinders!

Now that my Shmook is done, all I have to do is fill it with memories!  Hope you are inspired to make one, too!

Have a beautiful week, friends!
Much love & hugs...

'True Love' ATC

Hello friendly crafters!  This is an ATC I made for The Dusty Attic.  Each month we hold an ATC Challenge with a special theme.  This is the second ATC I have ever made and I enjoyed it!
The Dusty Attic Mini Scroll was painted and heat embossed.
My amazing friend found this quote for me to use because she knows I adore love quotes.  :o)
I used Glass Bead Gel in the background of the ATC to add an interesting texture.
I set eyelets in the holes of the heart buttons and tied hemp cord for a final touch.

That's all for today!  Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hello again!  Today I have a large tag to share with you!  It measures about 8"x4", and is comprised mostly of Dusty Attic chippies and Pion Design papers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love & hugs...

True Love

Hello!  Hello!  Today I have a layout to share that was created for my friend, Donna Salazar.
I had sooooo much fun with this layout!  I tend to enjoy myself when there is a lot of paint, ink and messy stuff involved.  LOL.
I used corrugated board as the backing for this layout.  The paper layered above it is from Donna's Mix'd Media Stax.  I used many techniques on this watercolor paper... stamping, embossing, masking, inking, painting and distressing.
Donna and her husband, Danny, are the most adorable couple!  They are perfect for each other and complement each other well.  This little question popped into my head as I was thinking of the journaling for this layout.  :o)

... a cluster of flowers, a Bitty Blossom, B.Y.O.B. and stitching.  The metal embellishments in the four corners of the layout are called Rivets by Zutter.
I LOVE Donna's Sprightly Sprockets!  They come in chipboard, and the coordinating Spellbinders dies are perfect for cutting paper sprockets to layer on top of the chippies.
On these sprockets, I stamped Donna's Crackle image onto them and embossed the image with Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder.
Beneath the photo, I incorporated lacing to add texture.

The background paper was also stamped with Donna's Crackle Stamp and embossed with Jasmine Embossing Powder.
These Bitty Blossoms are so adorable!!  All you need to make them are the dies and some paper!

Hope you like my layout!  See you next week!
Much love & hugs...
xoxo

'Thinking of You' Card

Hello crafty friends!  Today I have a card to share... GASP!  Yes, I made a card!  LOL.  I'm not much of a card maker because I can never get my cards to look as good as those amazing artists out there.  But I like to try.  :o)
I used Pion Design's Grandma's School Book 6x6 Collection to make this card.  It is filled with beautiful images and colors.
These little blooms were made using the Bitty Blossoms dies by Spellbinders.
The image of the little girl peeking over the fence was fussy cut from another paper in this collection.
The Mini Butterfly DA0364 is a chipboard element by The Dusty Attic that was painted yellow and sprinkled with Fairy Dust Glitter.
... the inside of the card.
I tend to add many chipboard pieces to my projects because I love the dimension it adds.

Thanks for visiting me today!  Have a beautiful week!

Much love & hugs,
