Houston Quilt Show – Part 1

I don’t know how all the people who go to shows can come home and get posts up so fast!  When I get home it seems like there is so much to get caught up on, so I’m sorry I’m slow in getting these up, but let’s get started…

We packed our bags and headed to the International Quilt Show in Houston, Texas.

Bobbi and Carolyn flew in a day earlier to start putting the booth up, and Kathy and I flew in the next day so we could do all the decorating.  Everything went well, and we were excited for the show to begin!  Here’s some pictures of set-up.

Bobbi not so thrilled I was taking her pictures – Gotcha!

Day 1 of the show…

I always get mad when I get home and feel that I should have taken more pictures!  I get so focused on the booth, and forget to take pictures of all the beautiful quilts, people, and products I see as I walk around.

Here’s the few we took-mainly of our booth and us in our booth.

Day 2…Halloween

We decided to dress up for Halloween.  We all started with identical hats and then altered them to match our outfits.  We each chose a different color of striped socks.  We were all going to take a Clip it Up storage bag and use it as part of our costumes.  Carolyn and Bobbi had some great ideas for theirs, but Kathy and I ran out of time to incorporate them into our costumes.

Kathy didn’t sleep well that night, so we quietly got ready and let her sleep in.  Here’s some pictures in the room before leaving for the show.

Should have closed the closet door,  but we we’re being quiet and just needed to hurry.  We had a big mirror in the room so it worked out nice to get a shot of the three of us. Can you see the camera?

Carolyn’s feathers on her hat were purple, but in every picture, they look blue.  Didn’t she do a great job using the storage bag as a jumper!

Bobbi’s skirt turned out great.  It’s amazing what you can do with those storage covers!  Kathy and I were slackers – sorry, maybe next year.

We got some strange looks but overall everyone loved our outfits.  One lady told me that EVERYONE use to dress up and if you didn’t, you felt like the odd man out.  I’ll share some more pictures on the next post!

To be continued…
