I finally jumped in and had a table at a local farmer’s market. I was selling my metal stamped jewelry and all of my handmade cards. I have been hoarding these cards for so long, that i decided it was time to part with them to make room for all the new ones I have planned. So on Tuesday I decided I should decide on the design of my table. Yes, the market started at 4pm Tuesday evening (there’s nothing like working under pressure). So a quick run to the local thrift shop to search for racking and display items. I bought an old bed sheet, and some wire racks, and an old tool box. Planning to paint them white, I ran home with my newly found goodies. Looking at the clock, I realized there was no way the paint would dry in 2 hours...so they were going to have be be brass for just a little longer. So quickly thinking.... I emptied my Clip it up, and started filling it with cards. Why didn’t I think of that first? It really was the piece-de-resistance at my table. Here’s what my table looked like. Not bad for my first ( and fast) table design.
I loved the way the little tool box looked filled up with my cardsAnd here is the other side of my table. I used lid organizers to help display my cards. I read somewhere, that if you have a flat table, don’t be surprised if your sales are flat.So I lifted things up as high as i could. But I also made them available for people to touch. I know I love touching things when I shop. I also scattered caramels on the table to draw the buyers in. I don’t recommend this to anyone. I ate so many caramels, I had a tummy ache the whole day following.
Doesn’t my Clip It Up look fabulous. I never thought I would alter it, because it is perfect just the way it is. But to fit in with my shabby chic tables I think it’s going to be white and chippy by the end of the week. I’ll keep you updated. I have also decided my next big purchase will have to be the Floor Model. I’ve been wanting it for some time, but have made the decision to splurge. I think it will finish off my table just perfectly.
Do you sell at Markets and Craft sales? I would love to see hear and see your table ideas. Leave a link here so we can all check it out. I am really looking forward to see how you sell your goodies, especially if you have a Clip It - Up
